Nancy Powell and Bethany Brower are the mother-daughter duo behind Northern Virginia based Powell Brower Interiors.  They each bring a host of different perspectives to design projects but unite in a core philosophy that they’ve built their business on – to take the snobbery out of interior design.  Their design aesthetic evokes calm, natural and collected interiors and they aim to tell a unique story for each client using their treasures and experiences as the foundation, while removing the unnecessary and stuffy decorating traditions that are often obstacles to better living.

Nancy and Bethany share a lifetime of respect for the arts, the great outdoors and animals – furry feet are their favorite accessory!

Nancy Powell

Nancy brings over 45 years of experience in art and design to the firm. She lives in Manassas, Virginia, with her husband Jim and golden retriever, Maisey. They have 2 married children, Bethany and Michael.  Nancy is the principal designer and project manager at Powell Brower Interiors. She creates art and is very hands-on with all the intricate details of every project. Her hobbies are antiquing, gardening, animal care, art and wheel thrown pottery.

After finishing her degree in Fine Arts at James Madison University, Nancy went on to open her own studio in Alexandria, VA at the Torpedo Factory where her work was scouted and later reproduced by a national design firm. There, Nancy found her true calling in interior design and led a regional team of designers for 13 years and later went out on her own.
